Tom was knelt next to the table that is daughter was sat on helping her with her maths work. His friend Kieran Wells was stood in the corner hoping that no one in the class would need his help; he was watching Tom wondering how the shyest kid he knew was able to get along with the class so quickly. He looked around the room before kneeling next to the table to help the kid in front of him.

Tom and Emma continued to discuss the problem that had been laid out in front of them when a knock on the door caught the teacher's, Lucy Turner, attention. "Hello, I need to speak to Emma, something terrible has happened to her mother," the voice sent a chill down Tom's back.

He reached for his bag and grabbed his knife before handing it to Emma while meeting her gaze. "He'll kill me," she moaned.
"That's what the knife is for," Tom replied. "Don't worry, I'll be right behind you."
          "You promise?" she asked.
"I promise," Tom responded as she stood concealing her knife. Tom began sneaking around the opposite side of the room.

Suddenly, Tom found himself pressed up against the wall, lacking the ability to move; he looked over towards where Emma and Felix were stood in time to see her attempt to stab Felix in the chest only to have him grab her arm, disarm her and spin her around to face Tom.
"Really? That's the best you've got," Felix asked shaking his head. "I taught that to you."
"Felix, please," Tom begged. "Don't do this."
"You create a monster, you have to deal with the consequences," Felix lectured.
"And there's the magic elusive link," Tom snarled. "My Dad told me that once, and he is still paying for the monster he created."
"Can you deal with the monster you created?" Felix challenged.
"Not while pinned to this wall," Tom snapped.
"Then watch and weep," Felix sneered as he pulled the knife across Emma's neck causing her to begin cough, which also generated blood that splashed over some of the kids closest to the door.

Within a minute after Felix had disappeared Tom unexpectedly fell to the ground before running over to where his daughter lay still, cold as ice. Ms Turner had disappeared with the girls who had been splattered with blood to get them cleaned up and see if she could find someone from Student Services to come and speak to the class about the incident.

Tom fell to the ground next to his daughter and pulled her head onto his lap as his tears dripped onto her face and rolled down her cheek like she was crying to. He slowly closed her eyes and just sat next to her body weeping as the NCIS team arrived to process the Crime Scene.
